(Read it backwards! The earlier chapters are written terribly.) There are two protagonists. One is Ye Xin, who will do anything to become an immortal and fight an unknown force, uniting humanity by any means and hunting demon gods as he falls apart. The other is Bai Ze, Ye Xin's good friend since childhood. At Ye Xin's request, he travels to the Ruins of the Netherworld to retrieve a powerful relic from a hundred years ago. Amid the conflicts between the five great nations and the demon gods, Bai Ze meets companions and sets out with them to find a way to save the world.
Amid destruction and devastation, countless people become sacrifices to Ye Xin. Will he ultimately get his wish and become an immortal, or fall into ruin as a tyrant who destroys the world? On the thorny road to immortality, Bai Ze and Ye Xin will bring their tangled fates to an end.
Meanwhile, the forces of the demon gods are reviving, and secrets hidden for two hundred years are coming to light...
