The six-and-a-half-year-old dragon cub is tricked into coming down the mountain by her master, who tells her the Chen family has lots and lots of sparkly things. Her mission: find her fiancé.
Her fiancé, Chen Yuan, was born with a constitution that makes him easy to possess, and he tends to attract evil spirits.
The dragon cub bounces down the mountain, grabbing an evil spirit with one hand and grinning with delight. “Wonderful! You're a high-level evil spirit. You'll make the shiniest, prettiest bead!”
The evil spirit feels a stab to the heart. “Let me say, thank you…”
With her other hand, the dragon cub tugs at Chen Yuan's clothes and speaks in a tiny, sweet voice. “I like big brother best.”
Chen Yuan smiles indulgently. “I thought you only liked sparkly things, little cub.”
The dragon cub nods. “Big brother attracts evil spirits, so I can squish them into sparkly little beads. Big brother is my very favorite treasure pot!”
Chen Yuan feels a stab to the heart. “Let me say, thank you…”
