The writing in the next few paragraphs is a bit stiff. Well, it just feels awkward.
Could the protagonist's black light virus be fake? There are gliding, claws, blades and devouring genes, right? Why don't the protagonists have them? And disguise? So what does the protagonist have to be? Only one devouring nothing looks like a fake, where did Nexus go? There seems to be a Nexus in the prologue.
