Synopsis

Author’s Preface

(This is a wish-fulfillment novel dressed up as science fiction. It recounts a story that really happened, though it happened in a game, haha. Most of the plot and characters did exist in the game, but at heart this is still the softest of soft sci-fi. The first 200,000 words or so are basically devoted to worldbuilding and setting things up. The real story begins in Book Two, A Whale’s Fall: A Tragic Song, and Book Three, Stormy Seas.

I created an independent star system that had been isolated from the Milky Way’s interstellar network for 127 years. Most of Golden Memories revolves around the first season, though I let my imagination run wild and added plenty of extra plotlines. All in all, this is a dream I’ve had since childhood. I wanted to write a science-fiction novel back in elementary school. I’m grateful to Infinite Lagrange for giving me the chance. The game has plenty of flaws, but its immersion is genuinely incredible. You can experience real social maneuvering, class divisions, and even the beginnings of ethnic groups in it.

This novel took many twists and turns before it came together. It started as a travel journal of fewer than a thousand words, then grew to ten thousand, fifty thousand, and a hundred thousand. I couldn’t write as fast as I could imagine, and I even rewrote the first chapter you’re reading now after I’d nearly finished Golden Memories. This is my first full-length novel. Golden Memories follows three main characters, a schemer, a warrior, and a heaven-defying hero, as their stories unfold on a closed-off stage. Don’t believe any of the science-related descriptions in this novel. Any numbers I give are made up. I typed the entire book on my phone, so the writing may jump around and get a little muddled. Please bear with me.)

Please! Any Space-Themed Novels Without a Female Lead?

Looking for books like "Interstellar: The Soft and Fluffy Bunny Has Shocked the Whole Internet Again". I just suddenly felt like reading one, but please don't recommend anything about the Zerg. I'm a little afraid of bugs and, for some reason, just can't handle them. And please, no apocalypse settings either.
