Jin's Love for You

“Will you give me the rest of your life?” It was the most beautiful thing Shi Yun had ever heard. Yu Jin liked Shi Yun, and everyone knew it, from the school administrators to the cafeteria staff. Yu Jin once declared, “I've chosen Shi Yun for life. Anyone who tries to talk me out of it will regret it.” The homeroom teacher often called Shi Yun to the office and told her, “Boys are all like that. They get restless when they can't have what they want. Don't let him sway you. Your studies are what matter most right now.” Shi Yun always agreed. The head of student affairs often told Yu Jin, “Go bother someone else. Don't go ruining a good girl like Shi Yun.” During a class meeting, Shi Yun told the teacher, just to humor them, “My dream is to travel around the world.” After class, Yu Jin handed her a note that read: What a coincidence. My dream is to win your heart and then travel around the world with you. Everyone knew Yu Jin had pursued Shi Yun for three years, but no one knew what was written on the first page of Shi Yun's diary, which she never let anyone read: Once I've climbed out of the swamp and shaken off every stain, once I've made it to the heights where you are and stand by your side, I'll tell you that my love for you will last as long as the mountains and rivers endure, as long as the sun and moon live on.
