Shen Ruyue never imagined that anyone could be this unlucky. Transmigrating into a book was bad enough, and landing in a clichéd romance novel was bad enough too, but why did she have to transmigrate twice?!
This book is practically going to get a hole worn right through it!
After transmigrating again, the System tells her that she was originally a cannon-fodder supporting character in this very book. But another “woman who transmigrated into a book” took over her body, causing the plot to change drastically. The two of them switched lives, from age five to sixteen: a whole ten years. Just as Shen Ruyue had finally gotten used to modern life, the System sent her back.
After hearing the System explain the whole story,
Shen Ruyue and the System: ...
Shen Ruyue: Can we at least follow the basic rules of transmigration?!
System: Sorryyy ≥﹏≤. Please save the plot, sis!
Shen Ruyue looks at the body in the mirror, the one that the woman who transmigrated into the book has “put through the wringer” for ten years. The sixteen-year-old girl is lovely, her figure delicate as a young bamboo shoot, yet her eyes reveal an exhaustion that simply will not fade. No cheat, no memories, and she has not even read the novel. With a disastrous start and the entanglements of her past life, she is expected to turn the tables against all odds. Shen Ruyue feels the pressure.
Palace intrigue? She really can't handle that!
Later, rumors spread throughout the capital that a daughter of the Shen family would rather take her own life than enter the palace. Yet beneath the towering palace halls, late at night, a shadowy figure scans a secret letter and smiles. A beastlike glint flickers in his narrow eyes as he murmurs into the darkness, “Interesting.”
Years later, when the beauty in his arms chides him softly, he finally smiles in sudden realization: she is far more than merely interesting.
[A career-driven, troublemaking strong woman x a scheming emperor who puts power above all]
I think the writing is very good and real. There are a lot of foreshadowings that I guessed, but most of them were beyond my expectation. Not only that, the contradictions and struggles, entanglements and pains of the characters are many and many, which made me feel that this book is really good. I can't explain clearly but I just finished reading it. I rarely can read the next book in its entirety, but this book really gave me a natural feeling? That's how it should be. That kind of identity change and change of mood may still have some shortcomings, but what I saw did touch me. This is very valuable to me, so I give it five stars⭐️
