In the original work, Mira's image change after joining the guild was probably more about protecting her loved ones and establishing an image that was not to be messed with. But what the author describes is that Mira changed her image because of her bad character.
To be honest, the original Mira has always been one of my favorite female characters. She was a strong protector of her family when she was a child. In the official plot, her younger brother has grown up and her sister is gone. She no longer needs to carry the burden by herself. She is also unable to continue practicing magic to protect her family. She eventually returns to her true nature, being gentle and considerate with a little bit of sinister undertones. These are the charms of Mira.
Is the Mira described by the author really still the Mira that the author likes?
