You can't wait until the actual confrontation to start recalling the enemy's past. You have to write them interspersed so that the characters, whether they are good guys or villains, will appear full. The above are the advantages and disadvantages that I can think of at the moment. As a new author, it is already very good. I will deal with the small details and continue to maintain the advantages. Not to mention it will be a masterpiece, and it will definitely be a high-scoring masterpiece. Finally, there is a sentence in it that I like very much, which is what prompted me to write this review. To sum up, in life, many things are not simply black and white. There are too many gray areas in the world that cannot be banned. You cannot use the black and white, right and wrong in most people's common sense to stabilize them. When people are in the world, sometimes they are more in control of themselves. This corresponds to my current life situation and also corresponds to the core of your novel.
