A Fish Remembers for Seven Seconds, I Remember My Life for Seven Years

They say a fish's memory lasts only seven seconds. Maybe I was a fish in a past life, because my life lasts only seven years. Every seven years, I am reborn into another person or thing, man or woman, animal or plant. I inherit their body and their memories. The moment I enter their body, their life begins its final seven-year countdown.

I died a long time ago, yet I have kept living. It feels as though I have lived many lives, and yet never truly had a life at all.
