The story of "The Embarrassment of the Red Top" begins in the 27th year of Guangxu (1901) and ends in 1918, the end of the First World War. It mainly describes the story that after Sheng Xuanhuai took over the Hanyang Iron Works, he established a new Daye Iron Works in Daye Lime Kiln (today's Huangshi), and then established the Hanyeping Coal and Iron Works and Mine Corporation. The Japanese consortium won the battle with Western capital and completely controlled Han Yeping financially. Han Yeping has since been tied to Japan and has been inextricably linked with it.
