Duke, Your Canary Just Made Her Center-Stage Debut

Everyone knows Gu Xingtan is the canary Lu keeps in a cage, a substitute for the woman he cherished from afar as a young man. She carefully tends every feather, trading them for the support of a man at the very top of the power ladder. She believes that if she stays sweet and beautiful, he’ll eventually marry her.

But everyone knows that the woman he cherished from afar will come back someday.

When she does, Gu Xingtan, the little canary, has no choice but to scramble out of the way. By a twist of fate, she enters a talent competition show to make ends meet. The many skills she mastered to be the perfect canary turn her into the “Bridge-Hole Fairy.” She quickly goes viral, with the whole country voting for her.

The vibrant young woman shines on camera. “Your love is what brought me this far.” One blown kiss and a wink later, ten excited fans have to be carried away in ambulances.

Meanwhile, the man who bitterly regrets losing his canary spots the face he’s been longing for on a screen. He immediately goes wild. “Just come back, and you can have anything you want.”

Gu Xingtan flashes a toothy grin. “Lord Jue, my career is taking off. Men are just obstacles.”
