Breakout: 1927–1934

Breakthrough: 1927–1934 is a collection of practical case studies detailing the classic battles fought by the Chinese People’s Army from its early years up to the start of the Red Army’s Long March. One of the books in the Victory Series, it examines ten classic battles, offering a comprehensive account of the People’s Army’s difficult journey from its founding in 1927: repeatedly overcoming hardship, breaking through the Kuomintang forces’ “encirclements and suppression campaigns,” and gradually growing stronger through one battle after another.
