This atlas has 7 chapters in total: Chapter 1 introduces the principle of color metallographic imaging; Chapters 2 to 6 introduce the color metallographic images of structural steel, tool and die steel, cast iron, surface treatment materials, and non-ferrous metals respectively. The front part of each chapter is a text description, briefly introducing the materials of that chapter. Material classification, processing technology, organizational characteristics and inspection methods and other common contents closely related to the metallographic pictures in this chapter. The following part is the color metallographic pictures, including the picture number, material name, etching agent, processing technology and organizational description; Chapter 7 is the "poem with the painting" of the color metallographic picture. All pictures in this atlas are selected from normal tissue pictures, defective tissue pictures and failure analysis tissue pictures commonly used in teaching, scientific research and production, a total of 887 pictures.
