When Kings Don’t Meet

The script in Ye Tingzhou’s hands was about two centimeters thick. After flipping through a dozen pages, he stopped, looking as if he’d seen something unbearably cringeworthy. His hands even trembled. “Xiao Fan, tell me honestly: this show has a female lead, right?”

“I’d love to nod and spare you that anguished expression, but I’m sorry to tell you that the person you share the most scenes with is a man. This script is actually a story with two male leads: an emperor at court and a prominent figure from the jianghu... There’s some romantic tension between them, and probably a few intimate scenes. You’ve seen them, right? The character’s called Rong Yue, though he might also go by Rong Yunchi.”

“Holy crap!” Ye Tingzhou couldn’t help swearing. He was thoroughly disgusted with the script. “You mean this show not only has no female lead, but I’m also supposed to act all lovey-dovey with another male actor?!”
