In the middle of CE73 in the Gundam SEED world line, a time and space change occurred in the earth's orbit... All space colonies and space facilities, including PLANT, disappeared. At the same time, space-time displacement occurred in North and South America, Africa, and some equatorial areas on the earth, and was replaced by another world called the UC Era. Since then, two power groups, the Earth Alliance (OMNI) and the Earth Federation (EF), have been confronting each other, refusing to give in to each other. A few months later, the two sides reached an agreement to launch the first post-time-change public negotiations in Kuala Lumpur, West Malaysia.
