This book is very good! It tells the modern history of China in an easy-to-understand way, which gave me a deeper understanding of that period of history. The historical figures mentioned in the book are all vivid, making me seem to be able to see their struggles and efforts in that era. Especially the descriptions of characters such as Zeng Guofan and Li Hongzhang gave me a new understanding of their merits and demerits.
