Nalan Rongruo (1655-1685), the son of the great scholar Nalan Mingzhu, was the imperial bodyguard of Emperor Kangxi. He was pure in nature and outstanding in talent. With his impeccable writing, he wrote poems and poems that were "elegant and graceful, with a strong sense of sadness, a noble and far-reaching style, and unique characteristics". However, he died suddenly in his prime years. "Nalan Rongruo's Ci Biography" uses delicate writing and euphemistic emotions to elaborate on Rongruo's emotional history with his wife Ruxue, Xu Xian Yin'er, concubine Yan Ran, and Jiangnan prostitute Shen Wan, as well as his pure friendship with Gu Zhenguan, Zhu Yizun and others who were well-established civilian literati. It tells Rongruo's feelings about "life is just like the first time we met" during the short journey of "mountains and water" and "wind and snow".
