This is probably the fifth time I have read "The Summer of the Bird". Eleven years ago (2012), one day in March, I borrowed two extremely worn-out novels from the city library, "The Flaws of the Onmoraga" (Part 1 and 2). At first, I felt that I couldn't read it. Some of the characters spoke for a long time, and all kinds of knowledge and theories were piled on top of each other. It was simply painful to read; The characters are just like idiots, their behavior is ridiculous and weird, but they always play a key role in the resolution of the incident; some characters are useless, and have aphasia when they are nervous, but they are always involved in various incidents and become the protagonist... When you calm down and read again, you can see that the author's skill is far beyond that of other writers of the same era. So far, I have purchased and read all the Kyogokudo series of novels, which shows my love for Kyogoku Natsuhiko. Of course, there are many people who don't like the style of Kyogoku Natsuhiko's novels (especially the "Kyogoku Hall" series). Some people don't like Japanese monster themes. Some people don't like Kyogoku Hall's unconventional reasoning. Different people have different opinions and wisdom. To read Kyogoku Natsuhiko's Kyogoku Do series, you must be patient, prepared and aware of suffering, especially to carefully ponder the long stories of Kyogoku Do. The strange human heart is the feeling I got from "Hundred Ghosts Night Walk". The events are surprising and strange enough, but you cannot get the true meaning of the book just by watching others explain the events after reading the book.
