In the Tang Dynasty, Xue Dingshan, son of Xue Rengui, was killed by the traitor Zhang Tai (son of Zhang Shigui), and his whole family was executed. Xue Dingshan's eldest son, Xue Yong, and second son, Xue Meng, were shackled by feudal morality, loyal and filial, and finally became victims of the feudal system. Xue Dingshan's third son, Xue Gang, was a strong man and refused to give in. He finally rebelled against the Tang Dynasty and avenged a bloody feud so that justice could be done.
