Raising a Wild Turtle

[Campus story + art student versus athlete + childhood sweethearts + super sweet romance + mutual devotion + everyday-life focus]

Sweet, gentle art student * devoted, straightforward athlete

In their second year of high school.

Shen Yulu wanted to study art, but her family didn’t approve. Even the neighbors told her not to be foolish.

Just when she thought the whole world was against her, Song Yanshi smashed open the piggy bank he had been filling since childhood right in front of her and used all his savings to sign her up for art classes.

In their third year of high school.

Shen Yulu was being targeted by people at the art studio, and everyone told her to put up with it.

Song Yanshi was the only one who did something. When he heard she was being bullied, he spent a whole day and night on a bus to get to her side and protect her.

During the art entrance exams.

Someone had mixed black ink into Shen Yulu’s white paint.

Song Yanshi ran himself ragged and delivered an entire box of white paint just half an hour before the exam.

After the college entrance exams.

Shen Yulu asked Song Yanshi timidly, “Would you be willing to be with me?”

The burly guy burst into tears, then asked the most ill-timed question: “This doesn’t count as dating in high school, does it?”

Shen Yulu: “...”

Song Yanshi sniffed and casually put an arm around her shoulders. “Well, I suppose I’ll do you the favor of saying yes.”

Shen Yulu: “I’ve changed my mind.”

Song Yanshi: “No way! A fool passes up a good thing, and nobody else is getting the chance to take advantage of this little fool!”

Song Yanshi’s love for Shen Yulu is bold and unabashed, an endless show of favoritism, devoted to her alone...
