Candle Tears

As the saying goes, Meng Po's Soup is the Water of Forgetfulness, and the red thread is the thread of fate. Yet Meng Po must forsake love, and the Old Man of the Moon can't tie a red thread for himself.

Meng Po roared, "One of us ties the thread, the other unties it. We're so perfect together, so why can't we date?!"

The Old Man of the Moon... had been banished to the mortal realm and had no say in the matter.

In one life in the Jade Pool Immortal Realm, the exalted Dong Wang Gong wrote love letters to the little Meng Po every day. The young Meng Po, smitten with romance, was curious about the Old Man of the Moon, who had been banished to the mortal realm.

In the life when the little Meng Po descended to earth, he was reborn as a human and followed the Old Man of the Moon, protecting her from every storm and keeping her safe, even after forgetting his former devotion.

The ten-thousand-year cycle was at hand. Gods and ghosts were thrown into chaos, and all living beings under Heaven urgently needed saving.

She asked curiously, "Can Meng Po and the Old Man of the Moon really be together?"

He curled his lips into a smile. Her bright, springlike smile had already bound him to her for more than ten thousand years.

"Whether you're the second daughter of the Li family and a ghost hunter, or Meng Po of the River of Departed Souls; whether I'm a general's son, Dong Wang Gong, or the Old Man of the Moon..."

Through lifetimes of reincarnation, he had pursued her, telling her:

"We can be together forever."
