The Regent General

[Strong Female Lead, Strong Male Lead, Growth] Rong Yunhuan was born a beloved daughter of Heaven, blessed with limitless wealth and status. Her father was a great general, her mother a princess, her uncle the emperor, and her aunt the empress. With a background like hers, she could easily have shouted, "Who else can compare?" She had lived a carefree life, but one blow after another soon came her way. The first: she couldn't marry the man she loved and could only become a merchant's wife. She maneuvered carefully through the infighting of a wealthy household and took control of the purse strings of the Southern Brocade Kingdom. The second: her father died in battle, and enemy nations joined forces to invade. Not one official in the entire court could turn the tide, so despite being a woman, she was appointed commander and rode out to war. She put down internal strife, lost her husband... and, after braving countless dangers, defeated the enemy nations and returned in triumph. But instead of a welcoming banquet, a trap awaited her. Having won the war, she was ordered to surrender her military command. Only then did she realize that the royal family had never trusted the Rong family, and that General Rong's death was no simple matter. She sneered. "I will keep both military and financial power in my own hands. No one will ever control me again." And when she looked back, thankfully, one person had always stood behind her!
