On the eve of disaster, Liang Yu unexpectedly obtains Records of the Strange Beasts of the Mountains and Seas, a compendium of ancient creatures.
The Azure Dragon, Vermilion Bird, Black Tortoise, Chongming Bird… The ferocious beasts of the Classic of Mountains and Seas are appearing one by one in modern cities.
Liang Yu: "I knew it. If there’s one unusual thing in the world, there must be countless others."
Reborn into a new life, Liang Yu just wants to live it out in peace.
Parrot: "Go on, Master. Find all the strange beasts and bring them back. It’s your mission."
Vermilion Bird: "Kid, I’m counting on you to support me for the rest of my life. Don’t let a ferocious beast eat you!"
Chongming Bird: "Poor child."
Azure Dragon: "It’s fine. Since this is the land of dragons, I’ll help you, just this once."
Three-Legged Golden Crow: "Need any gold?"
But just as Liang Yu hurried to record the strange beasts, disaster had only just begun…
Liang Yu: "Can’t people just live in peace?"
