The Witch Consort

His love for her had been planned from the very beginning.

As a member of the imperial nobility, Zhu Qiming has two faces. In public, he is as gracious and approachable as an angel. In private, he is as sly as a fox.

When the modern-day little witch Bai Shuyin accidentally transmigrates into the body of a foreign princess, his feelings for her are fated to involve a measure of calculation.

He plots, just as he says:

“A true man should aspire to encompass heaven and earth. Why lose yourself in a life of softness and romance?”

Yet he also loves her humbly. Otherwise, he would never have told Wen Xian:

“I am often afraid, afraid she doesn’t know how much I care for her. Whenever her eyes turn red and tears fill them, you have no idea how close my heart is to breaking!”

Perhaps Bai Shuyin doesn’t understand why a decisive, heartless emperor could love her so much.
