Ballad of a Chaotic Age: I Am the Prince of Lanling

Since the end of the Han dynasty, the Central Plains have been engulfed in turmoil. The chaos of the Three Kingdoms came and went, and the Sima clan’s unification lasted barely more than a decade before the whole realm descended into chaos once again.

The Five Barbarians ravaged the Central Plains, and the Chinese aristocracy fled south. The Han people who remained became the most oppressed underclass, exploited by all the other peoples.

The protagonist transmigrates from the modern age to the eve of the founding of Northern Qi, taking over the body of the historical figure Gao Changgong, Prince of Lanling.

At first, he only wants to use modern knowledge to fleece the ancients for all they’re worth. But the momentum of history forces him to accept his identity as the Prince of Lanling and wage war across the land for the Great Qi dynasty.

Yet that same historical momentum tells him he is doomed to a tragic fate. He cannot simply wait for death, so he has no choice but to fight back.
