Tales of the Three Kingdoms

The Three Kingdoms was a tumultuous and stirring age, when heroes emerged in droves and rival powers fought for supremacy. More than a thousand years have passed, yet it still sets countless hearts ablaze and inspires longing.

Romance of the Three Kingdoms has circulated widely in China for centuries and had an immeasurable impact on Chinese people. In popular culture, its influence has grown so great that it is often more widely read than the official history, Records of the Three Kingdoms. Many people overlook the fact that it is a novel and frequently confuse it with real history.

This book, Stories from the Three Kingdoms, is based on historical sources. Following its people and events in chronological order, it incorporates modern internet slang and uses the style of a novel to bring the Three Kingdoms to life in a vivid and engaging way.

As Dangnian Mingyue once said, “History itself is actually fascinating.”

History isn’t bitter or difficult to understand, nor is it obscure and mysterious. Much of that impression comes from the language used in the official histories written by the ancients. Now the author uses modern language to write a book that lets readers learn about Three Kingdoms history in a relaxed atmosphere: an entertaining and fascinating account.
