The Right Way to Raise a Big Cat

Zhou Xiaomi is the only cat demon in the world to have cultivated nine tails. Born with eight, he is an eight-tailed spirit cat. Among the spirit cats, the color of one’s fur and tails reflects one’s cultivation and status, and an eight-tailed black cat like Zhou Xiaomi is one of the finest of them all.

But his parents say, “This litter of kittens is the hardest we’ve ever had to raise.”

Zhou Xiaomi wasn’t originally called Zhou Xiaomi. His name was Xuan Mo. All spirit cats belong to the Xuan generation, and since he was a black cat, his father named him Xuan Mo. He thought it was a decent name, at least better than the one the neighbor had.

He didn’t think Zhou Xiaomi was a good name either, but it was still better than Xiaomi Porridge! Yet the human who raised him was always calling him that. If he changed his name, would that human, who was so silly, still recognize him?

So he kept the name Zhou Xiaomi. He said it wasn’t for that human or anything; he’d just gotten used to it and didn’t want to change.
