The Missing Traces of Jianwen, a Descendant of Maoshan

In the thirty-first year of Hongwu (1398), Zhu Yuanzhang died, and the emperor's grandson Zhu Yunwen succeeded to the throne. He changed his reign to Jianwen and was called Emperor Jianwen. After he ascended the throne, Zhu Yunwen introduced a series of policies to benefit the people, such as "lenient criminal laws", "encouraging farming and weaving", and "light corvee taxes", which were known as the "Jianwen New Deal" in history. The promulgation of the "New Deal" enabled the social productivity of the Ming Dynasty to develop very well. However, Zhu Yunwen did not secure the throne. Because he was eager to reduce the vassal, in the second year after he ascended the throne, the most powerful of the vassal kings, King Zhu Di, launched the "Battle of Jingnan" in the name of "Qing Jun Side", and after a three-year tug-of-war, he fought at the gates of Nanjing.
