An unexpected tornado transported Gu Ye, along with an “entertainment System,” to a parallel world where Chinese-language music had no standing at all. Korean entertainment dominated half the global music scene, and nearly every major dance group, band, and top solo artist came from Korea.

In this world, there was no “Milk Tea Singer,” no singer hailed as someone who would have written far more than three hundred poems had he been born a thousand years ago, no “All the World’s Love” in the traditional-style music scene, and no gently unfolding folk songs.

Gu Ye arrived with his entertainment System in H Country, where the entertainment industry was thriving. One song, “Nocturne,” made him famous across the Korean internet, and the three biggest entertainment companies scrambled to sign him.

But Gu Ye turned them all down. He wanted to be a free-spirited Chinese singer. No matter the world or the era, Chinese music deserved a place in the music scene.

One “Nocturne,” one “East Wind Breaks,” one “Ties,” one “Fragrance Left Behind,” one “All the World’s Love,” and one “Ideal: Thirty” completely opened the door to the music scene in this parallel world.
