The Time Control Bureau

In 2269, China entered an era of explosive technological progress. The Chinese Academy of Sciences joined forces with more than a dozen Chinese technology companies to develop a time machine. After decades of technological breakthroughs, the world’s first time machine was finally completed in 2318 and named Xihe. That same year, China and every other country in the world established strict laws governing time and space, with the foremost principle of preventing any changes to the course of history. Anyone who attempted to alter history by traveling through time would face severe punishment.

In 2319, China established the Time Control Bureau. After a rigorous selection process, the Time Enforcement Team was formed, led by Meng Qinxiao and consisting of Qi Wunian, Ke Zhongyue, Cheng Chunyi, and Qi Han. That same year, not long after the time machine’s debut, time criminals led by Zhu Jiuyin founded the Zhulong Organization. Its structure was meticulous, its duties clearly assigned, and it was jointly administered by four managers. Zhu Jiuyin directly oversaw these four, whom he called the Four Duty Officers. The organization sought to achieve its hidden aims by changing the course of history. Thus began the ongoing struggle between the Time Control Bureau and the Zhulong Organization, each fighting to maintain the balance of time and space and protect history from alteration.
