War-Torn World: The Iron-Blooded Defense of Wenguan City, Prologue
In the waning years of the Mogu Dynasty, the political landscape shifted dramatically and the realm fell into chaos. Within the empire, warlords carved up the land and bandits ran rampant. Beyond its borders, the chieftain-slaves of barbarian kingdoms invaded. The nation was beset by troubles at home and abroad, and teetered on the brink of ruin.
Yet as the empire crumbled, the court gave no thought to reforming its abuses or repelling foreign enemies. It simply let the realm fall into ruin.
The emperor of the day neglected the affairs of state and was foolish and incompetent. Civil and military officials schemed against one another and fought for their own interests, resorting to deception and backstabbing. Factional strife never ceased, and corruption had rotted them to the core.
Disaster struck the countryside again and again. Nine out of every ten fields lay barren, and local officials piled on exorbitant taxes and levies. The people went hungry and were crushed beneath their burdens, living in utter misery.
Farmers across the land rose up with their banners, joining the bandits in hopes of getting enough to eat. They looted everywhere they went and killed countless innocent people. Soon, bandits were rampaging across the realm.
To protect the empire, government troops were sent to encircle and suppress them. But the soldiers had long neglected their equipment and training, and lost nine battles out of ten. Their fear of fighting spread from the top down, and they broke and fled at the first clash. The more the bandits were suppressed, the more numerous and powerful they became.
As the situation grew more desperate, the chieftain-slaves of the barbarian kingdoms surrounding the Mogu Dynasty began raising armies and causing trouble. They raided the borders, seized territory, and committed every manner of atrocity, burning, killing, and looting.
Alas, the dynasty was beset by crises at home and abroad, with no hope of recovery. Warlords across the land divided the realm and ruled their territories independently. The Mogu Dynasty existed in name only, and the Age of Chaos began.
See how the transmigrator Lu Shiqian seizes control of the realm, turns the tide, transforms decay into wonder, and conquers all under Heaven.
Good. Very exciting, keep up the good work
Okay, but marching and fighting is a bit... Not well written
You must take a closer look at the ancient titles. You should call your own father as your father, and you should call other people's fathers as your father.
Overall, not bad. Don't be afraid of being late for a good book, I'll wait!
One thousand copper coins is called Yiguan, and Yiguan is equal to one tael of silver.
Well written and powerful
Not bad, it's just that after watching it, the heroine hasn't come out yet
