The Four Seasons of a Northeast Chinese Spirit Medium

This novel follows the coming-of-age of people born in the 1980s, recalling childhood memories and funny anecdotes. It tells of the younger generation’s romances as well as the older generation’s emotional entanglements. Through plenty of dialogue in the Northeastern dialect, it portrays the ways of life and human relationships of that era. The novel also depicts rural life in the 1980s and 1990s, along with the joys and sorrows of people living in the city. Woven into the story are cases from that time, as well as events in the protagonists’ lives as they grow up.
