Uncover the chaos and hidden secrets surrounding the bamboo slips of the Analects after Qin Shi Huang burned books and buried scholars alive.
Qin Shi Huang burned books and buried scholars alive, and Emperor Wu of Han made Confucianism the sole official school of thought. Yet the Analects remained hidden, and those entrusted with guarding it met one untimely death after another...
Sima Qian, the Grand Historian, sensed that something was amiss and decided to investigate in secret. But the closer he came to the truth, the more chilling it became...
Meanwhile, Zhu Anshi, a wandering thief-errant, accepts a commission to escort the sole surviving descendant of the Kong family who can recite the original Analects to the capital. Faced with two mysterious forces, one operating in the open and the other in the shadows, with relentless persecution and a startling conspiracy layered within another, the two slowly draw closer to the shocking secret behind the Analects...
Open this book and uncover the layers of conspiracy and bloody turmoil behind the Analects, hidden for more than two thousand years.
Highly recommended! I cried when I read the entire article. At the beginning of the story, Zhu Anshi secretly fled with Huan'er. On the one hand, Sima Qian got the silk book and accidentally discovered the lost secret of the Analects. Since then, he has been looking for the truth. Later, the story lines converged, and they all tried one after another to crack the real code of the Analects at all costs, but in the end they only got a cleverly disguised fake book... I highly recommend Wei Zhen for the vivid supporting characters (needless to say the main character, all of them are described in super detail). Really, I cried for him in the end. He has always been loyal and unyielding, and later endured torture in order to protect his lord, until he told the truth at the end, which runs through the whole text. I think he is the most touching character in it (everyone has different ideas and has his own evaluation standards ❤️) The ending is thought provoking. "Do you feel at ease?"
This book is definitely a masterpiece! It tells some little-known stories with elegant diction and exquisite conception. When reading ancient classics today, you really need to feel it with your heart. All the characters in the book are real people in history. Each chapter has its source annotation. The Analects of Confucius and Tai Shigong are used to connect the entire story clue. Loyalty, integrity, and mission inheritance are the soul of the story. The truth we see may not be the truth, the history you know may not be history, and what actually happened in history may not be the history you know. The history we see is basically how others want us to see it, or even how we want to see it.
For a book, because of the word "righteousness", the protagonist and his friends flew into the fire like moths again and again, sacrificing their lives for righteousness, but in the end they were played in the palm of their hands. It's really painful; it's sad; it's lamentable...
Recommended, a very good book! The high level of thought is the biggest highlight of this book. The author cuts through some interesting and obscure historical events in the history of Confucian classics, thereby creating a righteous story of academic forces resisting the autocratic monarchy in the middle and early Han Dynasty. The story is thrilling, twists and turns, surrounded by dangers, the plot has ups and downs, suspense comes one after another, and one foreshadowing after another is very attractive. Once I opened it, I really wanted to read it in one sitting and admired the author's writing ability very much.
I didn't expect that the Analects of Confucius could write such a story. It's terrifying to think about it. This is a suspenseful historical mystery novel about the Analects of Confucius. Behind Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty's exclusive respect for Confucianism, the Analects of Lu and the Analects of Qi emerged, but the whereabouts of the real ancient Analects are unknown. There are two main lines in the story unfolding at the same time: one line is about Sima Qian's historical records of the Confucius family, discovering the loss of the ancient Analects, and constantly searching for the truth; the other line is about the Jianghu figure Zhu Shi'an escorting the descendants of the Confucius family and the Analects of Confucius, and giving up everything, even his life.
History is not a solid stone, but has subtle cracks. There are always gaps and gaps in historical records, and the author of this book keenly captures this gap and fills this uncertainty with his strong historical knowledge reserve and rich and high-spirited imagination. The author uses his imagination in every detail, starting with the knight Zhu Anshi stealing the bloody BMW, and depicts a magnificent historical picture. The author's language is sincere and passionate, making it eloquent and moving to read.
The happy-go-lucky plot in the first half deceived me into thinking it was a martial arts drama like Two Capitals and Fifteen Days, but I was hit hard by the ending in the last few scenes. Sima Qian is right, the writings are precious, but they are just clear principles. If the Confucian wall is not left behind, the truth will not be hidden. Zhu Anshi's grandson's feelings are real. Everyone's ideals of love, hate and revenge only belong to themselves and their close friends, and have nothing to do with future generations.
Compassion for heaven and mercy for people. What is taught is the art of controlling people, and what is lost is the way of being a human being.
The story background of the novel takes place in the Qin Dynasty. After Qin Shihuang ordered the burning of books and the entrapment of Confucian scholars, most of the texts and works in the world disappeared in the fire in an instant, leaving only wisps of thick smoke. Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty burned books and harassed Confucians, but Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty only respected Confucianism. The two had completely different attitudes towards Confucianism. Just when the Han Dynasty needed "The Analects of Confucius", it disappeared, and the people who kept it died bizarrely one after another... The truth behind it was horrifying.
