Chronicles of the United Earth Fleet

Decades before the Starship Era, an extraterrestrial civilization from Sagittarius invaded the Solar System. Humanity's fleets fought back, but were utterly crushed. Faced with extinction, human civilization finally put an end to its infighting and pooled the resources of the entire world to build massive starships and flee the Solar System. During the voyage, the surviving humans signed the United Convention for the Expansion of Earth Civilization and established the Earth Alliance, known as the Alliance. That same year, the Starship Era officially began, and humanity entered an age of wandering.

As the Alliance's only combat force, the Alliance Fleet has stood by its side for thousands of years. Countless heroes have emerged, and countless legends have been written.

What does it mean to be a hero? They may be soldiers who have faced death time and again, yet still step forward when they hear the Alliance is in danger. They may be warriors who fight for three days and nights without sleep, burning through their lives to save the people aboard a space station. They may be martyrs who sacrifice themselves and their starships, one after another, to block the probes of a superior civilization and keep humanity's coordinates secret...

This book introduces these heroes of the Alliance through a series of short stories (though some aren't so short), and tells the legends of the Alliance Fleet.
