Meng Huayan, the eldest daughter of the Marquis of Xuanping, is not only a beauty beyond compare, but has also been taken as a disciple by the unparalleled physician who serves as Imperial Preceptor. Beautiful and bold, she leaves the young masters of the capital's great families both smitten and intimidated. They want to marry her and bring her home as their wife, but worry they might lose if they ever end up fighting her. Ever since her coming-of-age ceremony, everyone has wondered who would pluck this alluring, domineering flower. To their surprise, the Empress Dowager issues an edict betrothing her to the eccentric heir of Prince Rui's household. On her wedding day, Meng Huayan's bridal sedan turns a corner at the gates of Prince Rui's residence and heads into Prince Huaian's estate instead. The next day, the heir of Prince Rui comes knocking to demand his bride. She's no longer a virgin? No matter. He doesn't like older girls, he likes young wives! Prince Huaian: I went to all that trouble to snatch her for myself, and you think I'll hand her back? Heh. Do you really want to find out if I'll kill you?
