Riding Hard with Blade in Hand

[Fantasy wuxia + loves setting up mysteries + no System]

Li Dayou was jolted awake by a sudden scream. The thick stench of blood rushed into his nostrils, making him want to retch. Even worse than the smell was the ear-piercing scream, enough to make his scalp crawl.

Where am I? Wasn’t I taken to the hospital after nearly drowning while saving someone? Is the person screaming my fellow patient?

Li Dayou forced his eyes open against the dazzling light and looked around. He was instantly dumbfounded.

Gray-blue ancient robes?! A slightly stooped young man stood beside him. Judging by his clothes, wasn’t he just like the eunuchs on TV?

Li Dayou raised his head again and looked at the buildings around him: red pillars, purple beams, joined with mortise-and-tenon joints. The three characters on the plaque made him break out in a cold sweat: “The Castration Chamber”!

What the hell? I only nearly drowned. Surely I don’t need to undergo this kind of operation that’ll leave me without descendants!
