Arthur Conan Doyle was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, in 1859. As a teenager, he attended a religious school, then earned a medical degree from the University of Edinburgh. He was knighted in 1902. From the time he began writing A Study in Scarlet in 1886 until his death in 1930, he wrote more than 60 novellas and short stories starring the private detective Sherlock Holmes. When collected and published, these stories were titled The Complete Sherlock Holmes. In addition, he wrote many works in other genres, including science fiction, historical fiction, romance, plays, and poetry. Conan Doyle wrote A Study in Scarlet at the age of 29, and it was published the following year. Two years later, he published The Sign of the Four. Over the three years from 1891 to 1894, Conan Doyle wrote and published 24 short stories, including A Scandal in Bohemia, The Red-Headed League, A Case of Identity, The Boscombe Valley Mystery, The Five Orange Pips, The Man with the Twisted Lip, and Silver Blaze. At the end of 1894, Conan Doyle killed off Holmes in The Final Problem. At the urging of readers, he wrote The Hound of the Baskervilles in 1901. In 1903, Conan Doyle brought Holmes back from the dead in The Empty House, returning him to the pages of readers' books. He went on to write further detective stories, including The Return of Sherlock Holmes, The Valley of Fear, His Last Bow, and The Case-Book of Sherlock Holmes.
As it says in the book: "When all other possibilities are eliminated, the remaining one, no matter how unbelievable, must be the fact." I think you also need this kind of reasoning ability on the way to find love, and not blindly follow or be impulsive in order to find the person who is truly suitable for you. I really wish I could be as smart and calm as Sherlock Holmes.
