History is to humanity as a whole what memory is to each of us, explaining what we do now, why we do it, and how we did it in the past. Therefore whoever wants to understand the world must know its history.

As the book says, understanding history can help us understand the present and the future. I particularly enjoyed the parts of the book about ancient civilizations, such as ancient Egypt and ancient Babylon. These stories reminded me of the experiences of my own friends and family, all of us trying to create our own futures, just like the ancients. The pictures in this book are also very beautiful, making it not boring to read at all. Recommended to everyone!
