Special Study on the Basic Principles of Marxism

Since the end of the 1950s, world socialism has fallen into a tortuous and turbulent situation. The Soviet Union engaged in big-partyism and great-power chauvinism externally and embarked on the road of competing with the United States for world hegemony. China and the Soviet Union launched an ideological debate that led to the disintegration of the socialist camp. This was followed by the political turmoil of the "Cultural Revolution" in China for ten years. Socialist countries and the communist parties in many countries generally have unsatisfactory development paths and poor results. They are full of internal contradictions and have tense external relations. Finally, from the late 1980s to the early 1990s, drastic changes occurred in the Soviet Union and Eastern European countries, and world socialism fell into a serious low ebb.
