"Zizhi Tongjian" is the first chronological general history of our country. It starts from the 23rd year of King Weilie of Zhou Dynasty (403 BC) and ends with the 6th year of Zhou Shizong's Xiande (959). It covers the historical events of 16 dynasties and 1362 years. It is favored by rulers, scholars and soldiers of all dynasties and regarded it as a must-read book.

I think the first volume of "Zi Zhi Tong Jian" is very interesting! It records historical events in chronological order, allowing me to clearly understand the changes of that era. I especially like the characterization of the characters in the book. Each character has his own unique personality and experience, which makes me feel like I can see them performing on the historical stage. For example, I am deeply impressed by the character Shang Yang. His reforming spirit and wisdom are admirable. This book is really a good book for understanding history, I recommend it to you!
There are separate sentences in the main text that are difficult to understand, but fortunately there are text comparisons for easy reading.
It's nice to have a translation, but I can't understand it if I just read the original text.
