Education and Culture in Old Beijing

Beijing Imperial College is located on Guozijian Street in Andingmen, Dongcheng District, Beijing. There are locust trees lined on both sides of the street. The east and west ends of the street and the archways on both sides of the Imperial College gate are painted. It is the only remaining ancient street in Beijing with four archways. The overall building of the Imperial College faces south from the north, with Jixian Gate, Taixue Gate, Glazed Archway, Piyong, Yilun Hall and Jingyi Pavilion distributed on the central axis. There are four halls and six halls on the east and west sides, forming a traditional symmetrical pattern. It is an existing ancient central public university building in my country.
