If we look at the complete chronology, 1950 is undoubtedly the first year of New China. China's greatest woman of the 20th century, Soong Ching Ling, known as the "National Treasure", was the Vice Chairman of the Central People's Government at the time. She called 1950 "the first year of New China". This year, our republic is filled with a new and prosperous atmosphere. New society, new government, new life, new world... From the relationship between the country to the daily life of the people, people can truly feel the duality of the old and new society, and feel the great changes in China's history. Of course, this is just the beginning, and more spectacular changes are yet to come. In the history of the Republic, the reason why 1950 is a milestone is that it was "the beginning of the one yuan and everything was renewed."

This book reminds me of my parents, who experienced that era. The new society, new government, and new life described in the book make me feel the same. Especially seeing all the changes in New China makes me cherish my current life even more. However, I don't like the description of some characters in the book, it feels a bit too idealistic. But overall, this is a very meaningful book and worth reading.
