A Crisp Autumn Day in September

Gu Jiuyue clung to the tree, struggling to put the little bird back in its nest. "Come on!!! Just a little farther, I can do this!!"

She was so close. Gu Jiuyue summoned every last bit of strength and stretched up with all her might. The bird landed safely in its nest, but she was not so lucky.

"Aaaah!!" With a scream toward the heavens, Gu Jiuyue lost her footing and slid out of the tree. If she'd known she was going to fall, she should have learned to climb trees properly as a child. Now she was paying the price for wasting her youth.
