The Spirit Guide

In this vast world, anything is possible.

My father was fated to have no heirs, yet I was born all the same.

The ten years I stole from fate were peaceful, but then one problem after another began to arise.

Just before I turned ten, Auntie He said I was born for this line of work, blessed by heaven with a talent for it, and destined for an extraordinary life.

I was born without a fated destiny, a tempting prize for demons and spirits.

Heaven’s will, fate’s decree: I believe in none of it.

But fate cannot be defied. From then on, I devoted myself to study, all in the hope of staying alive.
