"Lovesickness at the End of the World" describes how He Yonghong, a young man from Guangzhou, went to the countryside to participate in labor practice with a group of young people in December 1968, and returned to the city to work in November 1975.

The story of this book is very real and made me feel the life and emotions of that era. I like He Yonghong in the book. He grew up working in the countryside and has been working hard after returning to work in the city. The storyline is very attractive, especially the love between He Yonghong and his lover, which is touching. The writing style of the author Lang Hua is also very good, allowing people to immerse themselves in the story. I recommend you read this book too!

This book is well written, and the description is very realistic. That was the era that the author must have personally experienced. I don't know how many couples were broken up when educated youths returned to the city. Female educated youths were okay because they could take their children back, but male educated youths were not. Later, the policy was improved, and female educated youths were able to return to the city with their partners who were farmers in the countryside.
Most of the young people who come to join the queue do not know how to do farm work, but as long as they have someone to work with, they will learn seriously, learn quickly, and work quite well. In that precious generation, young people caught up with the policy and came to the countryside to learn a lot of farm work and contribute to the countryside. This will also become a memory in the future. Although farm work is tiring, learning to do it is joyful. Young people will take a good path in their lives.
