I once thought writing was my only way out. In hard times, it was my one and only weapon. Then happiness quietly came into my life, only to leave me facing a new dilemma: a life that was too perfect had smoothed away the edges of my creativity.
He said, “Don't use happiness as an excuse. It's just a veil for fear.”
I tried to let go of my obsession and stopped forcing myself. I learned pottery, experimented with coffee, took up flower arranging, and discovered countless possibilities beyond writing. I realized there was more than one way to express myself, and life wasn't a one-way street.
Now, writing is no longer my lifeline. It's a path in the garden of my life that I can stroll down whenever I please. If I want to write, I write. If I don't, I explore some other corner of the world.
Because someone who truly loves you will never demand that you shine. He'll only say, “I love your writing, but I love you even more when you're free.”
Life is a wilderness, not a track. May we all have the courage to live beyond any label.
