Madam, You’re Actually the Empress?

[Pure history, with some alternate-history Tang Dynasty elements. Fantasy fans, beware.]

After transmigrating to ancient times, he becomes a small landowner and enjoys a carefree life.

One day, while out for a stroll, he meets a weeping young woman by the river. She is none other than the empress, traveling incognito.

Wang Ning assumes she is about to take her own life. Worried she might pollute the water downstream, he cracks a lewd joke at her.

The two get into a fight and both fall into the river. In the end, Wang Ning rescues the empress, who is on the verge of suffocating.

When the empress wakes and sees her swollen lips and disheveled clothes in the mirror, she is overcome with shock and fury:

“Lecher, I will never forgive you!”
