After Marrying a Spoiled Prince, I Win His Affection by Doing Nothing

[Male lead x female lead, both devoted only to each other, sweet romance] Chu Guo, a modern-day bit-part actress, gets the shock of her life when she transmigrates. Even worse, she wakes up in the body of a timid, cowardly daughter of the prime minister. She arrives just in time for a royal banquet, where a talent contest is being held. Chu Guo knows that in ancient times, events like this are either a beauty pageant for the emperor or a wife-selection contest for the princes. To avoid being chosen, Chu Guo deliberately acts weak and loses several rounds. She thinks that will keep her from marrying into the royal family. But then the infamous, dissolute prince singles her out as the one he wants to marry. She’s made herself look completely useless, so why would this playboy choose her? She can’t figure it out. Fine! If she can’t change things, she’ll just have to get married. Better to live a miserable life than die, and she’d much rather keep on living. But after the wedding, the playboy prince can’t even be bothered to pay attention to her. He’s always making sarcastic remarks, and she won’t put up with that. Does he really think she’s some helpless little miss? Xiahou Tuo, the fifth prince of the Dayi Kingdom, spends his days with a crowd of drinking buddies, betting on horses, getting into fights, and visiting brothels for wine. He gives everyone the impression of being a dissolute playboy, but no one knows he has a blood feud to avenge: someone slowly poisoned his mother, and his eldest brother was killed in a staged riding accident. He never wanted a wife, but he couldn’t disobey the emperor’s decree, so he had to choose one. Among the young ladies, he picked the timid, cowardly daughter of the prime minister for one reason only: she seemed weak and easy to control. But after their wedding, she turns out nothing like the woman he imagined, and he feels he’s been deceived. He loathes scheming women, and from then on, the two of them become sworn rivals.
