I'll Tell You About Forgetting

Psychology defines forgetting as being unable to retrieve or incorrectly retrieving and recalling something previously learned under certain conditions. From the perspective of information processing, forgetting means that information cannot be retrieved or is retrieved incorrectly. (From Baidu Encyclopedia)

Summer, 2003.

Yun Yi comes to live with her maternal grandmother and goes to school there. Her childhood friends make their entrances one by one.

She doesn't like Jiang Weike, from Great-uncle Tai Jiang's family. She always thinks he's such a show-off.

But she likes older brother Qiu Shan, from Uncle Qiu's family. Still, whenever she sees her elders, she decides to let it go.

Xiao Shuyi, from Aunt Liu's family, is pretty likable, too. It would be even better if he didn't snatch her spicy strips, soda, and instant noodles. After all, she only has one yuan.

She spends three years, then another three, quite happily.

Looking back, she finally understands that they were all part of her youth.
