The Yuefu of the Han Dynasty refers to the poems of the Han Dynasty that were collected and preserved by the Yuefu system of the imperial court or music management agencies equivalent to the functions of the Yuefu.
The poetry under the control of the Yuefu in the Han Dynasty is mainly divided into two parts according to their functions. One part is suburban temple songs used by the rulers to worship their ancestors and gods, and their nature is the same as the "ode" in the "Book of Songs"; the other part is a collection of unnamed folk music circulated by the people, which is known as Yuefu folk songs in the world.
The authors of the Yuefu poems of the Han Dynasty came from different walks of life, and the poet's writing penetrated into all aspects of social life. Therefore, the disparity between wealth and poverty, love, hate, pain and joy among members of society are fully reflected in the poems.
